9:00-10:30 a.m.
Learning Center, Room 5

Our final GATE parent meeting of 2017-18 will be held next week! As a reminder, these meetings are intended to promote open communication between district administrators, school staff, and parents. Our Book Club 2017 Selection is Grit by Angela Duckworth.

We will hold our final discussion on Part 3 of this year’s book. Please bring any discussion questions or topics you would like us to cover.

Our meeting will be held  at IUSD’s Learning Center, Room 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (3387 Barranca Parkway, Irvine, CA 92606). These meetings are intended for adult attendance only. Childcare will not be available.

I look forward to seeing you next week.

Samueli School of Engineering’s FABcamp

A message from our UCI partner:

The Samueli School of Engineering’s FABcamp still has spots available for this summer! Don’t miss out on this opportunity for students entering sixth-ninth grade to gain hands-on experience in the field of engineering. Our goal is to expose students to the engineering design process and expand their understanding of the ways science, mathematics and technology can apply to solving real-world problems. We have three levels, starting with 1.0 as an intro to the various engineering majors that UCI offers. From there, 2.0 and 3.0 dive into the world of fabrication using 3-D printers, laser-cutting, soldering, etc. in conjunction with the tiny but powerful Raspberry Pi platform.
